Virtual Dementia Tour

Event Time Wednesday, June 5, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Heritage Homes is hosting a free Virtual Dementia Tour for caregivers and the general public to offer insight about those struggling with memeory loss or dementia. Participants will journey into the world of memory loss with a total sensory experience.

The Virtual Dementia Tour begins by dressing "tourists" with special gloves filled with corn that is taped up to mimic those with arthritic hands. Tourists also wear specially fogged and marked goggles to simulate vision issues. The tourist is given one chance to take note of five tasks and then set loose in a loud and messy room to begin their tasks. It is quickly apparent that no activity is easily accomplished. This mimics a frustrated person with memory issues.

Space is limited and tours will be given on a first come, first served basis. To make a reservation, please call Heritage Homes at 920-567-2001.
