Wttn Humane Society Bake Sale/"Cram the Van" Fund Raising Event

Event Time Saturday, February 9, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Watertown Humane Society is planning to hold a bake sale and “cram the van” event to raise funds and bring in food and other supplies.  It will be held at the Watertown ShopKo Store at 701 S. Church Street on Saturday, February 9th, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Many homemade cookies, pies, and other sweets will be available at both store entrances during these hours, or until the food runs out.

The other half of this event is “cram the van”, which means the Humane Society will be accepting donations of cat food, kitten food, dog food, non-scoopable cat litter, paper towels, toilet paper, and copy paper, as well as cat toys, “Nylabones” for dogs, and “kong” toys for dogs.  Preferred cat and kitten foods are “Purina” or “Good Life” brands, and any brand of cat litter is good as long as it is non-scoopable, or plain litter.  “Nylabones” are non-animal-based chew toys for dogs which are considered safer for dogs than rawhides or actual bones.

The Humane Society van is recognizable by the paw prints painted all over it, and it will be parked at the first entrance to the ShopKo Store during the times of the bake sale.  Bakers and volunteers are needed to help in this event.  Individuals or groups may volunteer to bake sweets by calling the Shelter at (920) 261-1270 for more details.  The Watertown Humane Society is located at 418 Water Tower Court, and is open Mondays from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 noon to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Shelter is closed Thursdays, Sundays and holidays.
